and talking of radio...

... I got the chance to try my hand at a little broadcasting this week - albeit online (Podcast) and not on the airwaves, and for the Pittsburgh Symphony as opposed to NPR - but still, it was fun!

Those who've known me for a while most likely also know my addiction to various radio program(me)s both here and back in the UK.  It all stems from a rather odd 6 months of my life working in a plastics factory and relying on BBC Radio 4 to survive the tedium - God bless Radio 4!

I know, I know - it's a silly enterprise but, well, one which I'm quite excited about.  So, I'll put something together this week, then you have to go and vote for me.  Or create your own pitch and compete against me. Or neither...  All good fun, regardless :)

Live Rugger, tasty coffee :)

Can't imagine many better things than a sunny Sunday afternoon, sitting in my favourite coffee shop and listening to the England Rugby team steamroller the French...

And we just scored!
That's 26-18.  Think we may have just won the game :)

Shame it's not available on TV over here (and not even in any bars that I've seen - although I admittedly didn't look too hard).  Then again, I *am* on a TV-free 6 weeks, so perhaps that's a good thing. 

And there it is - the final whistle - woohoo!!!

ooooh indeed.  Look at my clean and fresh looking updated blog-design - and in hono(u)r of such things, I've even resurrected the audio-blog format, with added hamster noises to boot :)

Beeb Update...

Just spoke with Chris Vallance again - who I think I worried something silly when I told him there would be 4 or 5 of us... we'll see just how it turns out - he mentioned something about being a doughnut, so I'm now trying to figure out just what that means and exactly how to relate that sugary, doughy goodness to radio (?!)

Looks like the time for the segment will be 9:40 p.m. EST.

well, I guess you'd be able to listen again if you really had to - but there's nothing quite like live radio :)

well, I'm making a large assumption by calling this first 'odeo' podcast a weekly update, but there's nothing like high ideals to fail to live up to!
But I do enjoy making these little audio files, so hopefully it won't be a horrible chore or horribly boring for anyone listening...
